Cocoa and Snickers

Snickers, a 2 week old foal that came to Angels Haven with his Mom, Cocoa. They were seen by the Natural Trim farrier, Sherry Eucker, the day after they arrived. Cocoa was in so much pain she could not stand long enough to do any work on her feet, Sherry did manage to trim off some of her slipper toes, but the decision was made to have our Vet Dr. Byrk come out to sedate both mares and give them pain medication in order not to stress them. Sherry and Dr.Byrk arrived and did a wonderful job working together to get these feet started on a path to soundness. Bi-monthly visits by Sherry are scheduled for repeat work on their feet.

Brief Description

Her first few days here Cocoa layed down constantly. The Vet said she did not have enough milk for Snickers so the little guy learned to like Foal Lac pretty fast. Cocoa was so sore on her feet, yet she is the kindess mare to us and a great Mommy to Snickers.
